Just finished prep for skirting and stairs. Sanded at 180 for key , wiped and cleaned surface and have put on an undercoat which has gone on ok but u can still see some brushmarks.

Does anyone bother to resand with fine paper the undercoat before applying the gloss and has anyone any tips for getting the gloss right 1st coat. It took me 5 hours last night and I dont want to do this another 2 times!

    Cheers

Water based? If so, I reckon you’ll have to rub it back as it will have raised the grain. One of those spongey type sanding blocks will make it a bit easier.

Not water based. Dulux professional undercoat for wood and metal.
