After todays head tarmac encounter I need to buy a helmet. Do giro size up or down as I'm in between medium and large.

Better to go big- you may fit the medium, but if you're right at the limit you'll also fit a large and the large will cover your head better.

thanks rolf that was my thinking but often helmets are like shoes some come up big some small. do you use a giro?

I do- my head's at the low end of a medium. I fit a small but it doesn't provide much low down coverage, near my ears for example, while the medium does. Love their helmets.
