Just looking for some info please , Could I run 700cc cyclocross rapid robs on my 29 er Giant s-xc2 29 er wheels. the rim width of the wheelset is 19mm and as I’ll do some cyclocross races for fun on my 29 er a thinner tyre would probably help.

    Thanks for any info .

Yes, I’ve used road rims for the last 25 years, like (nearly) everyone else does.

Mmm , not really what I meant . The wheels are from a 29 er mtb but I want to use cx tyres on them . Just wondering If 19mm wide rims re to wide for cx specific tyres.

    No, you’ll be fine

That’ll be fine. I’ve run 35c tyres on Arch EX rims (21mm internal).

Most road rims are about 19mm internal. They’ll be fine. I’ve used cross tyres on them for years. If they’re a bit wider then you get a slightly better tyre profile. Just put them on and ride them.

Is the hub spacing the same?

Yes, and the rims go up tubeless easily enough with a couple wraps of Gorilla tape and stans valves.
