Also how much has technology moved on from 2005, would I really notice the difference on a new bike, or is marketing just as good as its always been in getting peole to buy new stuff ?

Your frame has an IS mount, as does your fork.

    HOWEVER

your old brakes have adaptors to convert Post brakes into an IS fitting. If you're not selling your old brakes you could benefit from a deal like this which doesn't come with adaptors or rotors and they'll bolt on where your old brakes did.

Spokes – thanks for the link, I've just bought a full set including rotors for £150 which is less than XT sets are going for 2nd hand on Ebay ! Bloody bargain !!

    Do you work for Ribble?
