I am considering buying a Genesis Vapour 10 2012 model for commuting on road & well surfaced trails and also road riding at the weekend (they are currently on offer at £600).

Struggling to find any reviews. Do any of you have this bike? Would you recommend it?

I had one a year older than that that was 9 speed, i liked it to start with when i was using it for commuting around south London on rides that only lasted an hour or so and it performed quite well the one time i raced it, but the frame was a little small for what i ended up using it for and a little harsh (longer road rides) so i got rid of it and got a bigger steel frame.

Where are they on sale for £600 btw?

I’ve a 3 year old Vapour and its been fine. Sturdy. Not that light, but not that heavy either. Cantilevers.

A curious thing: its got overrider brakes, and the cables are the springiest I’ve ever come across, so much so that the steering always wants to sit in the straight-ahead position.
