Bit of a long shot but here goes. My Voltage FR is an animal and came with a couple of 2.4 Big Bettys, Vertstar front and Trailstar rear. Vertstar is roughly 42a compound, Trailstar is 60a. They are totally griptastic wet/dry/loose/hard it makes no difference they hang on in there and give me loads of confidence. But they are wire bead 2-ply Snakeskins and weigh over 1kg each. I’m thinking of changing them to something a bit more freeridey but I don’t want to lose any of the characteristics that make them so good downhill.

Bettys are also available as single ply folders in Trailstar/Pacestar compounds – has anyone used these tyres and if so what do you think about them?

    TIA
