I decided to start running again in a bid to regain my fitness and shed some weight.
And thought I would replace my trusty polar which I have had for many years with something that did not require a footpod.

The 220 has arrived and seems very user friendly despite being serious overkill for my needs.
I have a few questions if anyone could help.

How long is the battery life in run mode?
Will charging at any time prove detrimental to the battery life or performance? (Am I better running it as close to empty as I dare before charging)
Also can I use its USB charger with my iPhone chargers plug or my anker external battery which are both 5V 1Amp?

Roughly 12-14 hours total time. I used to charge mine less than once a month and ran several times a week. It would get a top-up anyway if you used USB to sync data.

Nope, and definitely not – completely draining a Li-Ion battery is the surest way to see it off.

Type of USB port makes no difference to the charging.
