No. At three months old, take it back.

check the pivot bolts. in 3 months i’d expect some wearing in

checked the pivot bolts they all seem tight no movement.

frame was bought from the forums never used.

Could it just be the frame flexing and catching on the pivot points the rides fine,

if the bolts are tight, side to side play with a slight knocking is usually bearings on the way out. Up and down play with a slight knock is usually shock bushings.

Frame was “never used” but bought from the forums, unless it’s some one you know or trust very well i’d take that with a bucket of salt 😉

Taken from konas web site trying to make myself feel better:)

    Pivot

    Pivot
Anytime you have a pivot in anything, there’s
side-to-side movement, or tolerance. It’s what
allows the pivot to move freely. When you have
pivots that are close together, like in more
    complicated multi-pivot designs, the side-to-side
movement in those pivots becomes amplified,
what’s called tolerance stacking. Our 4-Bar system
allows us to keep the pivots as far away from
each other as possible thus minimizing tolerance
stacking. Ultimately, it equates to less lateral flex,
or slop in the rear end, as well a significant
decrease in bearing and bushing wear.

i have a kona dawg and a stinky, no play and certainly no knocking in either and theyve both seen a fair bit of abuse

sounds like bearings are knackered, as long as its not the main pivot bearing theyre easy enough to replaceand not massively expensive
