Front end to back end - Kona Fully

Hi,

I have a Kona Dawg Dee-Lux with a setup that matches my needs. However, the front end of the frame is a little worn (especially in the bb thread).
I don't know how old the frame is, but you can see it here:

Now I see that CRC has a Kona front end. Also Dawg Dee-lux, same size, but this is a never frame (even the spelling of the model name differs!)

However, it could be that Kona uses some standard sizes for the back ends?

Should I give it a try?

If it were me I'd get the frame, hold it up against the one you already have and if all the pivots are in the same place the jobs a good un. If they're not send it back for a refund and it's only cost you the freturn postage.

you coudl always look at having your existign front end rethreaded, of course.

If you look at the comparison charts on CRC then your has a different rocker to that frame, i think this is because they upped the travel the year after yours? They bother use the same shock size aswell so (just a guess) i reckon itll prob work.

@wwaswas: Yes, postage is an issue. Denmark is quite poor when it comes to quality bike dealers, so very few people ride Kona So, if I buy it, I have to use it myself - otherwise the money is wasted.

So... I think I'll buy it and see what happens.

@Munge-chick: Yes, Denmark is flat. I've just built myself a hardtail, but I still prefer my fully when I'm going to Bornholm where I grew up. That place is all rocks and hills (very short hills, though).

Kristoffer, the coolest MTBer I ever met was a Dane who had ridden an old Moto Guzzi sports bike to Morzine with his DH bike and camping gear mounted on a homemade rear rack. That's dedication to the cause.

Poor guy broke his wrist on the last day so had to fly home and abandon all his kit (the guy who ran the campsite we were on stored it in a barn).

That's funny I've found them consistently useless when trying to replace my damaged King Kikapu frame!

Followed your link to the Dawg frame and saw the exact size King Kikapu frame for £50!!!! Bargain - I bought it.
