Getting a hankering for a singlespeed pompetamine for commuting duties. It's hilly around here so singlespeed with discs rather than fixed seems to make the most sense. Recently moved to singlespeed on the MTB (Scandal) and this seems like an obvious next move. Leaves me to put the Jake the Snake into permanent cyclocross mode or winter road bike for club runs when singlespeed will not cut it for speed.

The ti ones look great but I think they are missing a trick with them, they should do them with clearance for full 29er tyres like the salsa fargo, I'd buy one...Makes it a very different bike though?

In cross mode. Prefer it in Fixietwat or beardedtourer though.

I only have the Pompino and do all my riding on it - road, cross, trails - and find it's fine for what I want to do. I regularly put in 40-50 miles on it and have done over 70.

I think I need a better picture...

Good pics all. Now hankering after a blue or white Pompino with drop bars, CX tyres, front brake and a fixed gear to give me something fast, cheap and intersting to ride until I get enough funds together for a proper CX bike. Plenty of inspiration here.

I'm about to order one, but struggling with the choice of colours (yeah, yeah...). Looking at these lovelies, I'm leaning towards the white, but the glow in the dark option intrigues me. I haven't seen any decent pics of them during the day though - are they off-white or vile lurid green?
Much prefer the old decals too. Maybe a respray is in order? That metallic red ones looks stunning.

Ade, likewise, I prefer the look of a lot of these white ones, and the blue is quite tidy too. Still curious about the glow in the dark though, as I've yet to see any decent photos of what it looks like in the day.

Looks pretty tidy though Al. You using that for commuting now?

Only as a testing bed & while I respray the disc mounts on my Casserroll. It's also borrowed the wheels off my road bike until it gets its fancy new ones.
