Toying with the idea of getting freesat. Can't get digital where I am, so if we want more than 4 channels, its got to be from space and I resent getting Sky.
So, I'm looking at the Humax Foxsat 320Gb HD recorder, which can also play iPlayer stuff over 'tinterweb. Obviously, I need a dual or quad receiver/dish put up on the wall. Of its a quad, I can connect a box to the other telly too. Does anyone know if you can get a receiver which doesn't record, but can network with a recorder, to watch recorded programmes on the other telly in the house?

You can certainly
record to dvdwatch through the scart out on them on another tv. I have a freeview pvr connected to my humax, which in turn connects to a dvd recorder and then on to the tv.So, I dont see why you can't.Might need a bloody long scart though if networking won't work. I know on mine, the network connection will pick up my broadband for Iplayer but I don't know if you can network it to another hummy box.

Try a Technika 8520HD box from Tescos.
I know its Tescos but check out the specs and reviews and price.Posted 1 year ago # -
Foxstat HDR is a good box. Needs two aerial feeds, so twin LNB minimum.

Can't answer your question but another vote for Humax Foxsat. FIL has one and it's very good

You could output through the Scart [or other AV connections] to a modulator & feed that into your aerial system to all TVs in the house
I have a bank of modulators sat in a cupboard that take the AV feed from Freesat/Cable/DVD/CCTV - I then just combine the UHF outputs & feed them into the aerial system

Be careful not to cross the streams and make sure you bypass the flux capacitor.
