Does anyone have any experience of Trek's frame replacement service, my neighbour has just noticed he's snapped his frame, the LBS have said that its covered under a life-time warranty, how long can he expect to be without a bike?

    Cheers

It took me about 10 days for my OCLV..

Trek were great with getting me a 8500 frame to replace my 8000 after I was hit by a car a couple of years ago. Obviously it wasn't covered by the warranty but they did me a fantastic deal and got the frame to my LBS pretty quickly. I reckon 10 days sounds about right.

As long as your LBS is a good one (and not slow at dealing with things)it should be less than 2 weeks

I got mine super quick, Trek get it sorted really quickly.

Highly recommend taking all of the parts off and inspecting/cleaning them.
If he didn't realize a frame snap there could be significant wear/damage to other parts. When your LBS builds it back up it would be agreat time to get them to assess it and have new cables pads and a general look over.
