I have just removed a piece of heli tape that i had stuck on my frame at the top of the downtube to avoid cable rub. Annoyingly it has taken some of the laquer with it. Visibly you can’t see it but you can feel the edge of the laquer and chip it off. Would a tin of halfords finest be ok for a repair or would it show?

Just cover with more helitape.

To smooth the edge use some P1200 or P2500 wet and dry with plenty of water. tbh you will probably make more of a mess trying to fix it but yes halfords would be fine.

Or just go out and get it covered in mud so you can’t see it 😉
