  • Fox oil 7 or 10wt?

As title, just doing an oil change as per fox vid. They recommend 7wt but the oil volumes site say's 10wt. I went out and purchased some racing 7.5wt motorbike fork oil, thinking it was near enough. The forks are 32 Talas rlc bolt through. Possibly 08 with about 130mm of usable travel. Would it make much difference using the 7.5 oil for an 80kg rider? Cheers Steve.

its 7wt, i always stick to what they recommend cos i dont know enough to experiment. i found it hard to find 7wt so mixed 5wt and 10wt at a ratio of 3:2 and gave it good shake.

I used 7 and could feel no noticeable difference.

Cheers for that. Its getting the 7.5 in and will see how it feels. Don't fancy mixing oils. (can't be arsed). Off out to pub now, many thanks.

The numbers used are – apparently – a bit academic anyway

Mojo, who are currently out of stock of Fork oil, told me to get any fully synthetic 10w oil.
