I have aset of 2011 36 talas 160mm but only really keep them wound down to 120mm most of the time on my hardtail , would it ruin the fork in anyway cheers

I wouldn’t have thought so. Mine (older) sit at 110, but I wind them out every so often. Might be an idea on yours, just in case the mechanism seizes or sumak?

It won’t hurt the fork, but it also won’t work as well as a Float at that length… TALAS forks work best at full length. So it’s a bit of a shame.

is 160 abit silly on a hardtail ? its a ns surge so takes 160 forks

Most might say yes but depends on the bike and type of ridding, HT DH/Enduro then may be cool, you’ve got Talas give it a go, DJ/4X leave it down, DH wind it out.

Must say my Surge felt awfull until I put some 160 mm u-turn lyriks on, rarely used the u-turn and even then the lyriks felt a bit flexy.
Running Talas on another bike, I would say 160 mm Talas are a perfect choice just wish I had a spare pair 🙂
