Looking at Charles Tyrwhitt for a white formal shirt to go with a dark suit. The last time I bought a shirt was from Burton’s over a decade ago, which should tell you all I know about shirt buying. I know there’s a few advocates of CT here, so hopefully someone will be able to help.

I can’t seen to find anywhere that explains the sleeve measurement, and the figures seem huge to me. How is this measured? Only way I can see that makes any sense is from the middle of the neck, over the shoulder and down to the cuff edge. Is that right? I guess too long is better than too short?

Twill, imperial twist, poplin, herringbone, end-on-end what’s all that about then? How do I choose? I guess poplin or EOE is the way to go, says they’re lighter and I don’t to be sweating like a stuck pig.

Help me Obi-Wan STW, you’re my only hope.

Not CT but sizing will most likely be the same as this guide from a competitor

Poplin is closest to what you imagine in standard shirt.
Twill a bit thicker (I think)
    Herringbone has subtle pattern

    I assume you read this

Aha! Top find, thank you. The ‘bent arm’ photo was the detail I was missing.

Actually, mine’s better for shirts over £33. QWYT is all shirts at £22.95 (code expires tomorrow, fill your boots).

Oh, and Topcashback gives me another 10%, bargain.
