Nope, fully original Cleland, on which the Highpaths were based.

Boak. All it needs is tan walls to complete the look.

In this video Gary Fisher explains how it was these Geoff Apps bikes and their use of 700c and 650b tyres that inspired him to invest his own money in developing the first 29er tyre, the WTB Nano-raptor.

Whats that black and white thing on the rear stays. Not a ‘lectric motor shirley?

don’t, they left about 0.0001mm of mud clearance and were so floppy they buzzed the tyre constantly. Utter rubbish

The white thing (actually silver) is an aluminium chain guard that stops mud from transferring from the rear tyre to the chain. The black item is a dural bash plate that does the same with the lower section of chain as well as protecting the chain-set from the impact from logs etc.

Hi tinybits, do you have experience of riding this type of bicycle?

That’s better than a lot of modern MTBs cos it’s not a 1x

The system of one large chain-wheel and the second half its size works really well. If you find yourself in too high a gear you can quickly drop onto the small ring and halve the ratio very quickly.

This also works well when your already on the hill and pedaling hard and is easier than jumping a number or rear cogs. Despite the large difference in chain-ring sizes, changing back up larger chain-ring is easier than you might expect.

I had a ride on one a few years ago.

Despite nothing about the look of the bike seeming right – inc ride posistion – it was a hoot.

The one I tried had its stem reversed too so the bars were behind the HT 😯
