I know ther are a few on here who respect engineering feats, just in case you have not seen this a staggering video of a miniature v12 engine being built.

How much would you like one of these? Or should I say how much would you pay for one of these 😉

I can’t comment as I apparently have no mechanical sympathy.

Pretty good, but he needs to check those valve clearances.

shocking isn’t it, imagine if he’d put that time and effort into something more fruitful, like loitering on a cycling forum 🙂

I take it that’s running on compressed air, rather than actually combusting?

I’m impressed & loved the machining of the crank shaft. Wonder how long he can run it for must be very little lubrication if any at all.

My Dad used to make a few engines but not any where close to this. Used to run his on compressed air.

could be diesel like smaller model aero engines? sounds a bit quiet though

    Thats mighty impressive engineering.

Far too quiet though and appeared to be no cooling, so must be running on compressed air

If you could build one which ran on petrol, then i’d love one, as i’m sure the internal combustion engine will be banned in my lifetime

Imagine sticking a little V12 in a radio controlled car…..

Lego should sell a V8 engine kit to build – like that one above.
    I’d buy one.

On one of Clarkson’s programmes there was a model maker who had made a model of a Ferrari Le Mans stlye racer (can’t rmember the meodel) with a fully functioning copy of the engine. Not sure what fuel it ran on though.

Proper engineering porn, none of that foreign muck.

I remember that. It was fully functioning. I remember the maker saying that if you could shrink someone to fit inside it it would run like the real thing. A working clutch, a working accelerator pedal, brakes, steering wheel etc.
