**** knows. I know that’s it’s impossible to copy the bbcode on an iPad now though. It’s been shite for a while to be fair it just seems that every improvement is exactly the opposite.

I can still get pictures from it but I have to go to save and them copy the URL and type in the tags manually. iOS will not let me select the link from flickr. Having typed this I have just realised that there are more pressing things to worry about such as world peace and a cure for aids, so I’ll just get on with it and shut up moaning.

Crap new layout but the purple bar has gone , still can’t post pictures from my tablet .

Hmm, can’t find the bbcode from the flickr android app. All that “share” gives me is a link, eg:

01440189

Edit: And adding the “img” brackets to that link only gives:

Open flickr through Chrome on my tablet, has all the share options there, including BBCode.

Looks like the old Flickr. The one everyone wanted to keep, and protested over any changes.

Did a double take for minute and thought that pic was for everyone on flickr 🙂

Just updated the app and it seems better on Android. It actually loads the pictures in my albums quickly, which it never used to do.

Still can’t copy the BB code from the app; have to open Flickr in a browser and find it that way

One of the problems I found with Flickr is that the interface looks different from different devices and in different browsers. Sometimes options just aren’t there. Very annoying and confusing. I switched to imgur for putting pics on the web. Loads easier.

You can still use the old old style front page view with this hyperlink:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/<username>?details=1

NB Swap <username> for your username….

I like the layout seems easier to get the code too.

Is it my connection or is it painfully slow on Flickr tonight.
Taking ages to load up just one photo

They’ve switched on auto-upload from your mobile. I’m guess that a lot of folk have selected it and it’s going through a bit of a backlog.

I just can’t get anything to link, I’m trying to select the BBCode, the normal ‘select all’ function no longer works, and trying to select the link is really frustrating, and when I do, it won’t show in Preview.
Totally messed up.

Auto-upload is disabled by default.

BBCode still good too

Erm, question for those linking pictures….

Are you doing that through the web browser or a tablet app?

And if a tablet app; Android or Apple?

And if Android – how do you do that, then!? 😀
If I chose ‘share’ I get a million and one options, but only one that says copy URL and then it copies a really short URL that doesn’t work.

Ta.

Flickr have been trolling their users for years, randomly changing and removing functionality, never be surprised by anything they do.

Ah. Ok. That makes sense; I thought I was missing something. I can get the link on my tablet or phone, but have to ignore the app and use Flickr through a browser.
I don’t understand why they wouldn’t make this functionality available in the app.

I keep meaning to look for a Flickr alternative. I only signed up to it for the pic/day group, but I don’t do that anymore.

Imgur.com is great for hosting one off images it provides easy links.

I gave up on it a while ago, now using photobucket. Given the massive amount of storage was a huge plus but it became impossible to post photo links here from phone/iPad so I just stopped using it as that was 75% of what I wanted it for.

You’re not supposed to “use” apps now. You’re supposed to “experience” apps.

Yahoo is #1 at throwing some jquery (or their inhouse javascript thing) as a “solution”, by some hipster with a mac in a coffeeshop, drinking a skinny mocca wocca whappa frappa with sprinkles.

Ditched flikr ages ago, and would ditch yahoo mail too if I hadn’t been so dependent on it (been using it since before google even thought about mail).

Those are their key hipster solution testing grounds. Sadly I prefer to use email, use an os/gui, and use photo apps rather than “experience” them.

Yes I have a friend who works for yahoo. Yes I rant on fb when yahoo has a hipster “experience” moment. Yes Yahoo eventually puts back all the functionality that was removed. And yes… she uses Gmail for Yahoo work purposes 😉
