Flickr Yahoo have been trolling their users for years, randomly changing and removing functionality, never be surprised by anything they do.
You’re not supposed to “use” apps now. You’re supposed to “experience” apps.
Yahoo is #1 at throwing some jquery (or their inhouse javascript thing) as a “solution”, by some hipster with a mac in a coffeeshop, drinking a skinny mocca wocca whappa frappa with sprinkles.
Ditched flikr ages ago, and would ditch yahoo mail too if I hadn’t been so dependent on it (been using it since before google even thought about mail).
Those are their key hipster solution testing grounds. Sadly I prefer to use email, use an os/gui, and use photo apps rather than “experience” them.
Yes I have a friend who works for yahoo. Yes I rant on fb when yahoo has a hipster “experience” moment. Yes Yahoo eventually puts back all the functionality that was removed. And yes… she uses Gmail for Yahoo work purposes 😉
