For all those who maybe want to try fixing their electronic gadgets, but getting the appropriate tools together makes it a bit of a phaff, ifixit, who do all the tech teardowns are now producing their own toolkit that should allow roughly 99% of consumer gadgets to be sorted.
And it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg…

I’m not in the market for one, but have you tried it ?

I *think* it should be reasonable quality, but so many of that type of toolkit are made out of cheese-steel that I’d want to hear a personal recommendation before splashing cash on it.

iFixit have a cracking reputation. They’re the company that produce the “teardowns” of modern devices and since they use their own tools to do the job, I’d have thought they’d be up to scratch.

As flaperon sez, which is exactly what I said in my first post. iFixit are always the first to pull apart every new mobile device, right down to the processors; if they’re happy to use the tools specified for their own tear-downs, then the tools will be more than up to the job.
A bit like Snap-on using their own tools in their own videos.
