    hi all,

I don’t have a torque-y allen key type thingy so wondering if it would be safe to fit my rotor? How tight should I go or just nip into the LBS to get it done?

    Cheers

If you’re bending the allen key, that’s too tight. A little less than that should be ok. (IMO)

Sure there’s not a Torx (I think that’s what you mean) tool on your multitool?

Failing that, it would be a wise investment to go and buy one! Not expensive, even for a decent workshop quality one, and handy to have a small one with you. I’ve seen more than one rotor come loose before now.,…. 🙂

    EDIT
Have I misread the OP? 😳

Just bolt it on, you’ll be fine. If it’s got those Shimano torx bolts don’t do it murder tight since they melt whenever you need to take them off.

Think they mean a torque wrench

I did mine up “just tight enough” with a screwdriver type torx thing and I’m not dead yet.

the allen key is a good indication of how tight it should be. A small key = not very bigger = tighter
    Just tighten it FFS
