When i fit the chain, do the narrow links go on the wide teeth or the narrow teeth? Just thought i would ask, not sure if it makes a difference which links go on which teeth but knowing my luck i would cock it up somehow.

    Thanks

    Narrow tooth – narrow hole
    Wide tooth – wide hole

Don’t think it will go very well the other way round – it is a even number of teeth isn’t it?

Do it the way that works, not the way that stops the chain from fitting.

If its wrong it just won’t sit on the teeth. Easy.

When I fit a tyre does the tread go on the inside or the outside?

I wouldn’t worry about which bit of the chain goes on which bit of the chainring..

I am waiting for my NW to turn up so haven’t seen it yet and not had anything to do with them before it was a genuine question. I didn’t know whether the teeth were made to fit both different widths of chain link or if the wide part was a tighter fit (not tight but less clearance) to the inner link and this is what helped stop the chain coming off.
