  • First world problems, which bike to keep?

I have a proper first world problem in that I have too many bikes and one needs to go! My main issue is both bikes are essentially brand new, but I can’t properly ride either due to a knee issue. So I’m looking for opinions!

Currently I have a 2013 26″ SC Blur TR with Fox Factory Shock/Fork and a stealth reverb post and I also have a 2014 650b Mondraker Foxy R with Fox Evo Shock/Fork, one of them has to go as they are both too similar in their intended uses.

I am slightly leaning towards keeping the Blur as its red and I always wanted a Santa Cruz, but part of me thinks to keep the Foxy as it is the new technology, despite it being heavy.

Basically I’d like a response from the Poll as to which bike you would rather keep, if you were in this situation. Pictures and Spec below to help you decide!

If you’d like to give a reason to your choice as well that would be great!

I would keep anything but that ^. Because it is really ugly.

Keep whichever you enjoy riding the most, or the Foxy if you plan on changing bikes soon, as that’s certainly more futureproof. I have a Blur TRc and wouldn’t want anything else 🙂

Sell both, buy something new but no better. It’s a STW law.

I’d keep the SC, without a doubt. The money you’d get for the Foxy would pay for a good quality Singlespeed, no trouble. Swift?!

you didnt say you’d ridden into a brick wall on the Mondraker, bending the toptube? I’d claim on house insurance for a crash replacement?

Or just sell it as it is ABSOLUTELY BLOODY GOPPING.

Keep the Blur, a bike (or manufacturer at least) that you’ve aspired to own, possibly build it with the choicest bits from both bikes? Put the other bits on the Foxy frame, then bury it at the bottom of a deep pit in the stealth of night.

You’ll. take a bigger hit selling a 26″ bike these days, so I’d keep the Blur. Plus it looks a lot better 🙂

You’d always regret selling the SC.

Thanks all for your replies, I am leaning towards the SC myself, as it was a self build as well.

The main issue I have is due to a knee issue I can’t actually properly ride either. I can only pootle round the village on the roads!

Sell either, spend the cash on a proper sports physio and enjoy the bike you have left….

27.5 will be faster for pootling.

Keep the blur, get more money back on the fugly bike.

Or ignore the need to make a decision and buy another..
