I’m looking for inspiration regarding some new film comedy to watch. To give an idea of my humour(?), I like the following:

    Planes, Trains & Automobiles
    Dumb & Dumber
    The Parole Officer
    Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
    Anchorman
    Naked Gun
    Road Trip

Regarding recent films, I liked the look of the trailer for ‘Goon’

    Also, is ‘Brazil’ any good?

Brazil’s not a comedy in the way your other films are.
I like Coen Brothers comedies: Oh Brother, Raising Arizona etc.

Just saw the first 20 minutes of Midnight in Paris, and it looks like that may become my favourite after I see the rest. It looks brilliant!

Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox story if you like the Anchorman style of comedy. “this is a particularly bad case of somebody being cut in half” 😆

    Super Troopers

The Big Lebowski is always worth a watch.

Submarine is kind of a comedy, worth a watch even if it’s a bit soppy.

Any film starring “The Hoff” or Bruce Campbell is worth a laugh, but probably not entirely for the right reasons.

Forgot to add Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Caddyshack 🙂 Also if you’re into TV series Parks And Recreation is pretty good.

napoleon dynamite and spinal tap, both incredible and highly quotable, but not to everyone’s taste. Though they don’t sit well with your other fave’s!

Brazil is fantastic, one of my favourite films in fact, but not exactly a roller-coaster of laughs…

“So, I Married an Axe Murderer” is a bit of brainless fun as is “Little Fockers”.

Life of Brian = best film of all time

The last actual laugh out-loud film I watched was Horrible Bosses, which surprised me.

My favourite comic actor is Walter Matthau, he made some duds but many classics too.

    Man with taste right there!

Most of the rest reads like my all time list of films to avoid whilst sober. Whilst drunk, however, the weakest of “comedy” offerings seems hilarious.

Sadly I watched Anchorman sober 😕

    Four weddings and a Funeral.
In fact anything written by Richard Curtis ahs me chuckling.

    Most Carry On films too.

    Grosse Point Blank
    The Princess Bride
Arsenic and old lace (brilliant stuff, though I have soft spot for old Archie & would mention many more…)
    Groundhog Day
    Kung Fu Hustle

    to start with…

Amazingly I don’t find even half of the film list above my post funny, just goes to show how different we all are.

I havent seen many good comedy films. I think my favourites are probably:

    Monty Pythons Holy Grail
    Four Lions
le donk and scor zay zee
    napoleon dynamite

I watched that Brass Eye series once, and now almost every other comedy Ive seen since has seemed really shite in comparison. I’ve lost my sense of humour.
