So I’m riding along the side of the canal, coming to the end of a very pleasant ride, when I notice a small flying thing which promptly smacks into my head, lodging itself between my forehead and glasses. The sudden and searing pain between the eyes alerted me to the fact that what it me was a wasp.
By the 3rd sting I’d managed to not fall in the canal, stop the bike, remove my glasses and emit a loud and extremely fulsome series of very colourful expletives – I now look something along the lines of the Elephant man

Unlucky!
I had something buzzing hit me on the top lip riding home from work tonight.

I was stung once while coming down Caddon Bank, little bugger got trapped between me and my Camelbak. What with that, the cramp, fatigue and overdosing on Jelly Babies, it wasn't a great day.

Had one hit me on the leg a few weeks ago whilst running. Been stung a couple of times over the years but this was the mother of all stinging things! Hurt like hell.
