not fast, pumpy, alpine, rocky, forest, sometimes almost at a standstill, off camber, rooty, sporadic glimpses of scenery, sheer drops beside in parts, with little problems in them that involve my arse on the rear tyre and my chest on the saddle 🙂
If pushed though, steep uber technical natural stuff, off the beaten path, in Morzine and Les Gets. Kind of trails that you only find out about by speaking to people "in the know", and that would be best ridden on a chuckable hardtail with a long travel single crown fork than a DH full susser…
Flowing but not fast, for me, fast trails are over in a blur and a whoosh, I like something I can pick my way over. Zoom or bust at Glentress suits me very nicely…
them pics are amazing, id love to go somewhere like that, my favourite bit of single track would have to be a long downhill section with berms and tabletops/jumps and northshore inbetween 😀
slightly downhill, fast swoopy bends through thick wood so you have to drop your shoulder to clear trees now and again, with plenty of roots, in the dry!
Fast Rocky Singletrack, not full of big rocks but nice compounded stuff, not so much trail centre more natural. need to sample a lot more though to form a better opinion. 😆
Something that stays rideable all year round, has a very slightly downward slope, about twelve inches wide, few roots and rocks for getting air and keeping you honest and has a few cheeky overtaking options. Can think of at least four near where I live. Hit squad hill, pie run, mushroom pie etc at Glentress not too shabby either.
I much prefer natural stuff to trail centres. Trail Centres are usually just bad weather options for me. One of my favourite trails starts up above the tree line and descends into the woods. It has some very fast bits and enough technical bits to keep things interesting. I like technical but not so technical that it slows me down too much.
