I think there's been one glaring omission from this thread so far...
Favourite Metal albums
Someone's just mentioned Judas Priest.
You have killed this thread.
How will you live with yourself now? Eh? Uh?
Oh and the only decent album twiddly dee Malmsteen did was the first one.
He WAS quite an exceptional guitarist back then.
Watch out Grandma, here comes a lawn mower. It's going to rip your face off.
Seeing as this is a thread for favourite metal album, my immediate thoughts are;
Paysage D'Hiver - Self titled and Das Tor
Limbonic Art - Ad Noctum
Darkness - As The last Star Falls From Heaven
Darkspace - I or II
Cultes de Ghoules - Haxan
Nekrasov - Cognition of Splendid Oblivion
Witchrist - Beheaded Ouroboros
How about Blizzard of Oz or Diary of a Madman?
Up there with some of the best Sabbath ever did IMO.
I think because Manowar take themselves so seriously that's the comedy. Eric Adams has a great voice, really powerful.
Another +1 for Will Haven. Saw a very scary performance by them in sunny Dudley.
Shoot em Down by Twisted Sister should be up there with the best. They said "look like women, sound like men, play like motherf**kers". Did their firs ever uk gig at Wrexham FCs ground (pointless fact)
I saw Will Haven at the LA2 and they were great. Supported by Crowbar too, who we mainly went to see.
i had the will haven - el diablo inlay cover (see above) signed by Grady at the deftones tour they did in '98. i hid it so well for safe keeping that I've never found it!
i've been lucky enough to experience them live a few times. favourite was with speedhorn and earthtone9. or when they supported fear factory. good times.
It has always annoyed me that they primarily seemed to tour with nu-metal bands, and generally got lumped in with that lot, which I hate by the way.
It truly is a great album.
JUDAS PREIST - Sad Wings of Destiny
all killer, no filler. Just rip roaring riffs and sonical eargasms
Suicidal Tendencies - How will I laugh tommorrow, Still cyco and Art of rebellion
Pantera - vulgar display of power
Iron Maiden - live after death
Therapy infernal love
stone temple pilots - core
Temple of the dog
Metallica - Puppets
Paradise lost draconian times
Megadeth hidden treasures
Anything by blink182 <whistles nonchalantly>
I knew I had forgotten one....
White zombie - astro creep 2000
Judas Priest live though... Absolutely dreadful.
I've reconsidered, and now chose Entombed Uprising, Metallica Death Magnetic, and probably some Converge album again.
There is only one name in metal - KING DIAMOND
