Plus, alot of the albums mentioned above were recorded by artists much less talented that the Chili Peppers; who are arguable all Maestros on their chosen instrument.

The Egg’s first album was called ‘Albumen’

Each to their own. For me, Californication was when they ran out of funk and had it surgically replaced with weak ballads.

They bottled it in the end but the Offspring threatened to release Chinese Democracy (You Snooze You Lose) 😆

So I’ll go with 1992: The Love Album

There’s an album you don’t hear about much anymore. I used to listen ‘101 Damnations’ and ’30 Something’ pretty much constantly. Helped by the fact that they fitted nicely on to either side of a C90 tape…

    Are we doing:

    “Favourite Album”: Its title?

    or

    Favourite name for an album?

I’m assuming not the former, otherwise we’ll be here all night arguing.

    but for the latter:

“File under: Easy Listening” by Sugar or
“The Hungry Saw” by Tindersticks or
“Pissing on bonfires” by Meursault or
    “Vectamist” by Grizzly Bear

Probably not my favourite album title as such, but this thread has brought back memories of this:

I bought the LP purely based on the strength of the album cover – so much win!

Yes Sheik Yerbouti is great title – and an even better album.

I always thought “Things May Come and Things May Go but the Art School Dance Goes on Forever” by Pete Brown and Piblokto is a good title.

don’t forget ‘If god loves a winner he’s going to want to **** me in a minute’

I’d like to add Alpha Male Tea Party’s classic ‘Real Ale and Model Rail: The Lonely Man’s Guide To Not Committing Suicide’

They also have a natty line in song titles, especially on their last album: https://alphamaleteaparty.bandcamp.com/
