  • Faulty Garmin 810 – best way to return item?

Bought this from Aldi several months ago. Its now faulty, it won’t show up as a drive on the laptop and screws up file explorer when connected. tried everything and I think its faulty.

Aldi say they have a 60 day returns policy and for me to contact Garmin. Garmin say they need a returns number which seems impossible to get from their website, obviously making it difficult for consumers.

Can I legally return the item to Garmin without a returns number and expect them to honour the warranty? Anyone know what my stat rights are here? Thanks for help !

Aldi are your legal point of contact. Trading standards should be your helping hand with them

They might say that, but it’s bollocks.

Aldi should deal with it but I found Garmin support to be good.

Reported fault through the form on their website, got given a return number.

They won’t just automatically give you a return number because they want to troubleshoot the fault first. The form has space to describe what you’ve already tried.
