I know there’s some experts on here that may be able to offer advice, a fair few stw’ers are on our groups.
One of or Facebook groups, carpenters & joiners talk group has been stolen via another admin. It’s part of the builders talk group of groups, totaling over 50k members. CTG had over 5k members.
One of the admins had his Facebook and gmail accounts hacked overnight, they added a fake account and removed all admins and blocked us all. We have the members giving us info and a few other accounts still in the group but we can’t do anything else. Somehow they managed to remove the group owner too, which I assumed was impossible. The admin responsible was luckily only a moderator on the other groups, so they could not add anyone to the other groups and make them admin.
We’ve reported the fake accounts via other members but so far, Facebook don’t want to know and haven’t done a thing, rejecting the reports.
It’s a brilliant group with some incredibly talented members and contributions and we want it back! We’ve put a huge amount of work into it collectively and can’t bare it all going to waste. Just not sure what else to do….
