Apparently there are ‘no team orders’ either. I wonder if that includes the ‘don’t run your conniving German team mate off the track’ order.

My prediction. Last race of the season, vettel about win the champioship, until webber goes for a kamakazi pass, and takes them both out.
Vettel loses title, webber announces retirment, with a smug look on his face. 😀

And vettel really needs to learn when to shut up.
    He’s digging that hole deeper.

    That was my first thought.

He’s creating a real hostage to fortune with this approach.

Red Bull must love the publicity and I can’t see them stepping in.

I liked Vettel, but this incident has changed my opinion. I now hope he loses the championship due to penalties for needing too many engines, there was a reason Webber wasn’t racing, and that was the team had told him to preserve his engine.

Although I do wonder if his remarks are being taken out of context by the Anglo media.

Doing your washing in public – not very classy. I hope Webber has got more style and doesn’t feel to need to bite back.

Having said that, I don’t recall if he has a genuine reason to have some bad feelings from that last race of the season in Brazil.

I’m looking forward to the red bulls really going for each other now, should also blow the championship wide open and stop them running away with it…

Don’t worry, if he uses up all his engines, I’m sure Mark will Loan a few….

Apparently the double world champion should be suspended: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/21922429

Some people really do just need to be forced to retire properly.

But seriously, I bet the Reb Bull PR department loves the hype as it generates massive interest.

Given they are a multi million pound professional organisation I wouldnt be surprised if the whole thing is a big PR bluff.

Should make for an interesting race – will it be live on the Beeb ?

Personally, I think he did the right thing. Team orders are stupid, they are meant to be ‘racing’ to win the race.

Coogan, dont forget there are two races, one as you say for the dirvers, but there is the constructors race. That is a team event. So at some point there will need to be a compromise.

Also, none of the drivers can drive without a team. So really they need to think of the team first.

I’d have given him a lot more respect if he’d just been honest after the race.

If you agree at the beginning of the season/race that you’ll adopt some sort of team strategy regarding overtaking then that’s what you should stick to. If you’re not happy with that strategy then the time to make your feelings known is when it’s first put forward. Otherwise you look like a coward, a liar and a cheat.

Team orders are stupid, they are meant to be ‘racing’ to win the race.

But there is the little race that they are doing that day, and the big race (the championship). Big Boys like Red Bull are after championships. Vettel was “racing” someone who had turned down his engine management to save it for another race as the team had got the 1-2 in the bag, for the good of the big picture championship “race”.

As soon as it was clear Vettel wasn’t going to follow orders they should have just told Webber Vettel was being a cock and he was free to use all means at his disposal to defend his position.

Horner will begin to look very weak if they let Vettel get away with making statements like this without facing proper disciplinary action (i.e. a financial penalty or being withdrawn from a race or two).

You really think he didn’t wind it back up? Didn’t seem to be struggling for power from what I remember, even when he went Schumi style towards the pit wall.

being withdrawn from a race or two).

You previously mentioned that they after after championships, suspending the chief points gatherer doesn’t help that.

    Blimey!

Posted the picture without a thought, I’ve had a stern word and I hold my head,

    Sorry mods! 😳

Still not a fan of Vettel,
Gets pole, has the car do the rest.
Doesn’t get pole, struggles and throws his dummy out of his pram!

Don’t agree personally. Yeah, team want the constructers title, but if your racing to win the race, boost your championship chances and in the same race Alonso spun out. **** the team the orders, go for the win. Like your meant to do being a racing driver. Racing to win as many races and points as possible.

Otherwise you look like a coward, a liar and a cheat.

Really? Don’t see that at all.

He did race well last race of last season though. I seem to recall he was facing the wrong way at the start and managed to go on to overtake everyone, or nearly everyone and win the Championship.

Like him or not, he is good at winning. So was Senna.

No team orders at Red Bull from now on. Should make things more interesting. Mr Horner is looking pretty weak at the moment though.

Red Bull reckoned Webber was a bit soft on Alonso and squeezed Vettel a bit hard in Brazil. If Vettel hadn’t won the championship at the end of the race, I suspect Webber would have been announcing his retirement. Grumpy whining teddy thrower that Webber is.

I remember watching the race in Brazil on TV and thought Webber did Vettel no favours then. I know ‘why’ they didn’t want him to overtake but if I was Vettel I’d have done the same thing. If I was Webber I’d have then switched everything up and tried to get the place back.
