    I've got a evaluation copy of excel 2010 and I'm having trouble
    getting any task panes to appear. For instance, when setting up a pivot table I cannot get the field list pane to display (however many times I click on the ribbon button). Is there some setting I'm missing?
    I'm using a Windows 7 laptop.

    What happens if you put the mouse on the pivot chart area and right click – on mine there is an option to Show Field List. However I've found quite a few bugs to date so might be another.

    When I right-click on the the pivot table area nothing pops up.
    This does seem to be a general problem, I haven't been able to display any task panes in any other part of excel.
