Been eyeing up a dropper post for a while now but haven’t bee nable to justify the cash. I’ve seen these cheaper versions of the KS Dropzone posts for just under £90 thanks to the current GBP / EU exchange rate and apart from the weight they seem like phenomenal value.

Any real-world experiences on here, or should I hold fire until I can go with the Reverb option?

So far as I know, the only real issues with the eten are the cable to head type design – the Lev is very much better in this respect although more than three times the price – and I believe it’s a sealed cartridge too, so not user serviceable, but due to the specialist tools most treat the Reverb as if it’s not really user serviceable either…

    I’d certainly consider one…

Not got one myself but have fit two of these recently on bikes I look after for friends.

Yes, don’t expect Thomson/RS quality or infinitely adjustable seathead as its serrated so you have a fixed few degrees of movement each time.

Do expect a seatpost that works really well and with a bit of faffing its almost as good as the big hitters in the market. Also the black stanction looks really good.

Few things to watch out for:

    100mm travel only

Lever throw not quite long enough(resulting in preloading cable so its finicky to get spot on – even with inline barrel adjuster)

When it gets a bit crappy(err this is the UK) the lack of lever throw means it doesn’t always actuate the best, more tension on cable results in always activated so very bouncy seat post.

Best remedy we have found so far is a length of spring to go between the actuator lever and the cable stop. 3 weeks in and its working faultless.

For £100 its a no brainer as its very close to the boutique posts for very little money. Possibly requiring a bit more fettling along the way to keep lever action good

Had mine a while now, I put a decent cable on it from the off and it’s been fine. Maintenance has been a wipe down and a spray of GT85 now and then. No complaints.
