If you were in the market for a new set of bars and found an ex-display (not ridden) set for a saving of £55 (55%) or a new set for a saving of £44 (44%) what would you do?

By the bars I preferred and not worry too much about the £11

Save yourself £11 then, as long as they’re unmarked.

It all depends who is selling them. Any decent bike shop would not sell anything that is dangerous

For £11 get the new ones….

Display bars as in stuck in a cabinet rather than sat in a box? Or as in mounted to a demo bike and used?

The former – display. The latter – new.

As in put on a display bike that has never been ridden

Display for me, they’re only new once.

No No No. Search around and find a local bike shop where you can pay full retail price.

    +1

On-One used to do a service whereby they’d go ride your new bike for you to get it muddy in order to fool OH’s into thinking it was an old or 2nd hand bike!
