Does this sound dodgy or what?
My company just made a bunch of people (er, sorry, "positions") redundant and now they are bringing in a contractor to do exactly what a couple of the redundant folk were doing.
Could they have any come-back on this?

If they are replacing two permanent positions with one temp contractor then I wouldn't have thought so.

As long as the correct procedure was followed then no, they are fine.

Collegue of mine was recently made redundant, he worked for a German company.. The first meeting he had, the president said "You are not German, therefore we are making you redundant as it costs more to make a German redundant" ! Oops… £50k payout 😉
