    just bought a light from dealextreme (USA= 2pin, 120V)-

what adaptor will i need for use in the UK?

can find loads but none actually convert the voltage, which i presume i will need?

    thanks

My chargers from DX is a usa unit but it will do 110 to 220volts best you double check

A shaver adaptor is no use you need a USA to UK adaptor

    what salad dodger said

if it only does 120v (most are 110-260V) then it'd be easier to get a new adapter to match the output voltage/current/polarity

cool didnt realise chargers could cover dif voltages, fingers crossed the supplied charger will cope with 220V.

    yes

for instance you can get an adapter from maplins (other electrical retailers are available) that will match it, might be 9V DC, 300mA then the tip will normally be reversible for positive/negative

ah ok, so if it is a 120V charger only–pick up a USA->Uk adaptor and problem solved?

I wouldn't plug it in unless it ways you can.

    ah ha!
just had a zoom in of the adaptophere and it says 120-240V so should be all fine and dandy.

    thanks for the help!
