    i may take a job being offered in Logroño seeing me through untill summer next year. teaching English at a language school.

    what is the weather like in winter?

    i've checked and there are proper (1000m height difference) mountains around 20km from Logroño town centre.

    experiences of the region would be appreciated.

    Its a lovely place, great nightlife. Not sure about the temperatures there but its generally dry, suspect it gets a bit chilly. You also have a ski resort nearby Valdezgaray. And yes, there's some good riding nearby and lots and lots of lovely wine. I live a bit further north, near Bilbao.
