    So damned bad for you but just so damned good….!

    Slowcooked stew on since this morning, dumplings floating temptingly on top. Glass of claret to go with it….YUM!

    oh yeah, doing an Irish Stew tomorrow. nice bit of barley, in it and washed down with Bath Ales Stout

    Sorry, but the sight/taste of dumplings is truly vomit-inducing!!
    Brought up on the hideous things and will never eat another again!

    Suet??? How the hell can you eat it????

    I always make dumlpings for our stews, but on the odd occasion that we’re out of/cant source suet, I find Soda bread is an excellent substitution.
    CFH I hope there’s at least a glass of claret in the stew too.
