I've been given the task of doing a white wash today.

Do white but stripey things go in the white wash, or in the colour wash? Does it depend on the overall ratio of white to stripe?

If in doubt, bung it in! Just put them on a cool wash, they'll be reet (particularly if they've been washed already)

white wash for anything white or very light.

Anything else in a mixed wash.

Apart from darks (dark towels, jeans etc) – they go in a darks wash.

Ohh, and your wife/SO bestest cashmere jumper/silk undies/Jimmy Choo shoes go on a 95deg wash.

    😉

Ho, ho, ho. Recipe for disaster there 😉 – actually, spinnings an area you can go wrong too – I normally spin my socks (woolly or otherwise) on fastest, but managed to felt a pair of the OH's (merino?) socks by doing so. Ditto underwired bras – take 'em out before spinning, the wire in them tries to make an escape if you don't….

I have some white gloves that went blue when they went in the coloured wash. How do I make them white again?
