Am looking for a 2-ply gravity tyre for the front 2.4″ or thereabouts ideally less than 1kg. Mostly dry rubbly stuff. The usual suspects are wire bead and 1100-1200 g or more

    Are there any light-ish 2-ply tyres? No 2.35 60a Minions please 🙂

There are no light 2 ply tires. Try a Michelin reinforced tyre, more substantial than Maxxis EXO & usually some good bargains. Wild Gripper 2 a good all rounder.

Couple of companies do heavily reinforced singleplies- Specialized SX, Schwalbe Super Gravity. EXO gives sidewall protection but not much increase in stiffness ime so it’s not really the same thing

    +1 EXO.
My 2.5″ 3C DHF is just over 850g’s and have not had a problem with burping, cuts, etc.

WTB Vigilante tough, grippy? Similar to schwalbe SG but reinforced tread as well as walls and similar weight

On One Chunky monkey or smorgasbord? Been eyeing some for an up coming assault on snowdon, don’t want anything too meaty but still solid…

You want the super gravity carcass schwalbes.

Very hard to put holes in them when run tubeless.

Exo casing is easy to hole, by comparison.
