I’m trying to remove front wheel to replace pads and it seems something within the DT Swiss Maxle has seized – so I can’t get the wheel off.

Stressing a bit because I’ve got mini-enduro tomorrow morning at Forest of Dean 🙁

    I took a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4XhYFgZUVU

    Any suggestions please?
I hope I’m just being stupid and it’s something obvious.

Your maxle is corroded to the bearings in the hub. Id guess that as it gets tifny again as you try to unscrew it the fork legs will be getting forced apart a little.

Last time I tapped the hub from the side while unscrewing it little by little.

When it comes out clean and refit with plenty of grease.

It’s very common and quick Google should

Put some copper slip in next time

Do all ^ that – after your enduro

Take the brake off and replace the pads that way. Nothing can really go wrong and you will definitely get a ride tomorrow
