  • Downhill runs near Cwmcarn and Cardiff with road access to the top?

    Hi
What nice downhill tracks are there around the Cardiff/Cwmcarn area?
Preferably with a road leading to the top (or nearby)
I’m getting a heavy-ish bike built up soon and fancy trying out some new local runs.
Obviously I’ll be taking it to Cwmcarn DH (when the ice has gone)

Pop in and see Colin at Rush Cycles I rode with them yesterday and they showed me some good riding/descending and some of it was defo for the full bounce boys, was interesting to say the least on my 1×9 Hardtail, oh and they are a great bunch of guys too.

Carpe, I think I did my very best mince/bimble at that point, will be popping back when it’s dried out a bit and giving it another go, which also gives me time to grow a bigger set of balls!! The climb up to it is a good one as well, especially when it’s slushy and icy.

The climb is good in the dry, normally 30 – 40 mins, and there’s some great tracks as well as the farside. Took us over hour pushing up there last week 🙁
