    Do:
Take every opportunity you can to go riding.
Take responsibility for your own destiny.
Commit all the way to the lip / drop.
Explore your limits. How will you know what is possible until you try the impossible.
Encourage other riders achievements no matter how small.

    Don’t:
    Hesitate.
Hang around staring at trail obstacle longer than necessary.
Give up when the going gets hard, dig in until you reach the other side.

Do ride for the pure joy of being on a bike in the great outdoors.

Don’t – Grip the bars too tight, we all do it, no need for it and it makes you tired

    Finish at the pub
Ride in fancy dress from time to time
Do a multi-day mini-adventure ride eg South Downs Way
Laugh at friends that fall off
    DON’T:
    Stop having fun

Do ride somewhere where it makes you just stop in awe at your surroundings and go wow
Dont forget those that can’t do what we do, tell them all about it, when and where you’ve been and what it was like,

Do – ride in the Alps at least once, respect other trail users and the environment, remember which way round the euros put their brakes…

Don’t – fix a mechanical by putting your bike across the trail, take yourself too seriously, assume your mate’s ‘give it some welly’ is the same as your ‘give it some welly’ when jumping a push bike…

Don’t worry about having an off day or not being as gnar as the next bloke/lady.

Do – remember why we ride when you’re having a tough ride.

Don’t – quit, you will always regret it.

DON’T upend your bike to fix a puncture in the middle of the trail just around from a blind, fast corner.

DO say hi to everyone on a bike (even roadies)
