    Yeah, we went through a farm as I recall – we we warned by Carl to keep quiet, but the farmer was very pleasant.

    Yup, he is a nice old chap. Enjoys a chat with the cyclists. Hates the 4×4’s that have tried to drive that way.

    Rode the Doethie for the first time today (June 20th 2012) and it was a great ride.
    There are several places where you have to stop, get off your bike and cross a bit of boggy mud, but on the whole, very rideable.

    It was a lovely sunny day today, but it has been raining quite a bit in the last few weeks and there was a fair bit of surface water on some parts, with some deep puddles and boggy parts as well.

    However, when you head off from the dam, the reservoir is lovely to look at and when you get to the Doethie Valley itself, you can’t help but feel that you have entered into a small bit of paradise.
