Just been playing about in excel(I’m waiting out the worst of the rain before I head home.), so have put the above plan together.

Inspiration for this comes from my mates stag do in september, we’re off to berlin, but I’m thinking taking week to 10 days before it and just fly to amsterdam with the bike and take a wee meander through germany at my leisure and end up in berlin when everybody else turns up.

Obviously with the above plan, I will need to factor in short weeks, or even a week off here and there for recovery.

General route I’d be thinking of taking: flat as can be looking at that(Which would suit, be the first time I’d be doing that kinda distance, in the past I’d usually do trips offroad about 100-150 miles over a few days, but I’ve never actually trained for those.)

Still swithering whether to go for it or not and commit myself to the flights(I’ll decide on that over the next few days). But any thoughts you have are welcome, whether on the training, or even the route?

Looks like a lot of miles. I did a 10-day x 100 mile LeJog with a LOT less “training” than that – something like 3 x 20 mile days/week (commuting) and one longer ride of up to 50 miles or so.

scotroutes, ye I don’t think I’ll actually meet those targets, time wise more than anything else, plus there would be a few other trips in late spring/early summer to work around too(want to do the WHW and a separate trip through the islands.)

Reckon if I got up to 40/50miles per day by september I’d be laughing(As I said, northern Germany looks very flat.).
