I want something that will fit somewhere around the handlebar to keep jelly babies or similar in for long rides. Needs to be secure, easy to get into without faffing with zips, etc. Needs to be showerproof and be able to prevent the contents spilling out on rough bits.

So, is there anything out there that fits the bill?

Oh, and I don’t want to be reaching into jersey pockets of I have a big camelbak on

    [EDIT]

This post has been superceeded by previous posts.
Well, preceeded realy but I didn’t see them until after I’d finished writing mine, by which time they were there.

Side pocket of your back pack…I keep mine there in the bag, no losses or dampness and very easy to access.

Hmm, looked thought about all of those already. What I’m thinking is something like a climbers chalk pouch, with something covering it that stops the contents bouncing out, but you can also simply shove your fingers into to retrieve the contents, whilst still riding.

My suggestion is just a velcro thing.. How puny are your fingers?

Check out Revelate Designs – mountain feed bag.

Not cheap esp with postage from Alaska – so order a few things as Erics stuff is great!

As Realman points out, the Topeak is rather good and we sell a lot of them accordingly

The other one to consider is

    Waterproofs innit

Been using a bar bag myself recently but not off road for it making too much noise.
