  • Direct mount fitted to where v brakes used to be?

Hi, I have an oldish cyclecross bike and I’m looking to replace the brakes. Was just wondering if direct mount is compatible with the same fitting as v brakes?
My bike currently has some mini v tektro and I was thinking of getting some shimano 105 direct mount.
I can post a picture if it helps. Thanks

Depends on the width of the mounting studs – canti/vee studs tend to be wider.

No, if you think about it the direct mount bosses are above the rim and cant’/v brake ones are below the rim.

Thanks, yeah looking at how direct mount fit it’s fairly obvious that they won’t work.

so many adds hiding the reply option……………..
