Do it in your garden. Or even better, do it in a cardboard box and then put it in an outside bin.

I read something once that said the smell of fresh bread helped sell houses, so I see no problem with you pinching a loaf just before they arrive.

Hold it in, what could possibly go wrong?

offload it into a carrier bag then hang it off a local tree?
