  • Diffuser for LED bike-lights as camping 'lanterns'?

Got a couple of troutie designed LED bikelights and was thinking of using them for camping.

Anyone found a way of putting some kind of reflector/diffuser round them to spread the lights. Don't want to be blinding my fellow French campers!

I've got a diffuser for my fenix torch and it works fine as a lantern – not sure about the troutie ones.

What about heat? Bike lights are designed to have air flowing over them, that will not happen when you camp.

Someone mentioned using one of the balls that come with washing liquid

Thanks guts: heat isn't an issue as I can turn the current down. Washing up liquid ball sounds like a great idea.

Hi Dave lets have some pics with the washing up ball to see how it works.
the led lanterns have a silver cone inside to spread the light also
so might be an idea to line the top of the ball with foil inside

Run mine on low power pointing straight up, reflects off of the ten roof a bit like an uplighter
