Planning on getting a new bike soon, which comes with Deore shifters and SLX rear mech.
In my parts bin I have new X7 shifters and X9 rear mech.
I have Sram X9 on my other bikes, and like it. It works and stays working, and I know how to stop the jockey wheels seizing up.
But I also used '08 Deore for a while and was pleasantly surprised by the shifting action and performance (compared to old XT).
It's a 180mm travel bike for holidays and uplifts, so won't cover vast mileage - and wondering if this "Shadow" mech profile is a good thing to have on a big bike? Also heard they can be more of a pig to set up right.
So please let mw know what you think, especially if you've ridden both.
